[A]fter[T]hought

AfterThought was born in Jackson, Michigan in 1988. As a child his dad would play music every single night giving A-T a variety of musical influences throughout his childhood. Everything from The Beatles, to Destiny's Child, to the Bee-Gees, The Spinners, and many different bands could be heard regularly coming from his dad's speakers. When A-T was in elementary school he scored high on many of the music proficiency tests, and an interest in drums. He decided not to participate in band however, and took up playing football instead. A-T always begged his father for a drum kit, but he never received it. A-T's sophomore year of high school he came into contact with a kid who made beats on his computer. A-T wanted to begin making beats, as he had a new found appreciation for rap. He started off making just simple drum loops and melodies using almost no equipment. Just this past year, A-T inherited some better equipment and is now working on his first mixtape. He is looking to work with other artists as well as finish songs of his own to complete his first mixtape, due for release in September.
